A proposito di questo titolo

In this charming sequel to Anne of Green Gables, the unpredictable red-headed heroine returns for more wonderful adventures. When Anne Shirley first came to the beautiful Canadian town of Avonlea, she was a mischievous, talkative orphan who captured the hearts of everyone she met. Now, a few years later, Anne is a young woman with new dreams. She has become Avonlea's schoolteacher, and ends up, among other things, reuniting two long-lost lovers, raising two orphans, and falling in love for the first time.Public Domain (P)2011 Recorded Books Classici Letteratura e narrativa

Recensioni editoriali

Beginning with Anne of Green Gables in 1908, author Lucy Maud Montgomery created a publishing enterprise as ambitious and successful as its heroine, the flame-haired and hot-tempered orphan, Anne Shirley. Performed in a mature, impeccable American English by Barbara Caruso, Anne of Avonlea is the second of six Anne novels. The present volume finds Anne at age 16, teaching school, studying with Gilbert, forming a social club, and getting into her usual trouble.

Along with the unforgettable heroine and great quirky side characters, the listener is treated to the small, peaceful Prince Edward Island in Northeastern Canada, beginning on "...an August afternoon with blue hazes scarfing the harvest slopes, little winds whispering elfishly in the poplars"...
