    It’s been a couple of years since we came out of the pandemic and a lot has changed. Life as we know it during COVID wasn’t anything like we’ve ever gone through. Being a nurse during that period was an experience none of us will ever forget. Ralph discusses life during COVID as a nurse and a photographer. This is Ralph’s story of how he got into photography and his influences in life becoming a nurse. He was on the front lines as he worked in a designated COVID unit. We get an insight into how he got into wedding photography before nursing and how his passion for the arts opened new doors as an entrepreneur. He shares stories of how it’s not too late to chase your passion and start your own business. He takes us on what it’s like to balance two separate careers. Joseph gives his advice and what is helping him physically and mentally to get through his first few months as an ICU nurse. We dive deep into his family roots and the influences that he had growing up that led him to his nursing career. We learn about his past, the roadblocks, the challenges and detours he made along the way to get into the nursing program. We talk life, purpose, and really finding yourself in those early twenties and how time really molds us to become resilient. We reflect and share the struggles of a student and how it made us understand that things don’t always go as planned. He gives us insight into the importance of really working on a passion that you love and having a work-life balance. We’re going into deep about my lowest points in life, challenges, and barriers, and the number of years it took to accomplish my goals. As many times I have failed or was not successful in my own eyes, I felt it was necessary to shape and mold me into the person I am today. We go into deeper conversations regarding my thoughts of mental prep before going to work, stories of perseverance, consistency and not giving up on your dreams. We talk about my experience as a new grad, the importance of communication skills and what on-the-job experiences I learned that carried over to my life. Life has a way of giving us a unique experience and I am excited to share mine. I’m grateful each day that I get a chance to make a difference In someone’s life in my line of work. He reflects on his travel to the homeland and growing up as a Filipino-Canadian and what he’s learned through travelling alone, only knowing the basic Filipino language. It was great to finally get the person who influenced me to start a podcast on the show, while also learning even more about his life story.     Changes are inevitable in this line of work. We hear about nursing in the hospital, but it extends outside of it. For example, there's aesthetic nursing which on this episode, I got a chance to have a conversation with Nick an aesthetic nurse who along with his wife Nisa recently had the grand opening of their clinic called Aesthetic Room Toronto (ART). Nick opens up about his journey in life first as a student, then working as an emerge nurse to a clinical coordinator. Nick offers insight and reflection on the challenges of starting a business from ground up and the decision to go all in and what this clinic means to him. We talk about botox, fat dissolving procedures, and how it helps clients improve self-esteem, confidence, and the satisfaction of seeing their clients with amazing results. Finally, he shares tips on what he's learned during the process and the importance of work-life balance. Enjoy the show!
