  • How to Stop Stuttering by Replacing Your Current Pattern of Speech
    May 23 2017
How to Stop Stuttering by Replacing Your Current Pattern of Speech Book A Session With Me: https://thesmoothspeechsystem.com/youtube-conversation - - Hi, my name is Michael Williams and if you struggle with stuttering, stammering, choppy speech, fast speech, or if you struggle with anticipating, that is worrying about or being anxious about stuttering, that is you believe or you think that you're gonna get stuck on this word or you're gonna stuck saying your name, if you struggle with those things, then I want you to follow this series and the title of this series is How to Stop Stuttering Using the Pro90d Speech System. That's the title of the series, however each video, which should be about five minutes or less, will be individually titled. So, the title of this video is How to Stop Stuttering By Replacing Your Current Pattern of Speech. How to Stop Stuttering By Replacing Your Current Pattern of Speech. What do I mean when I say replacing? Well, we don't try to treat stuttering. We want to replace it. We don't treat it, we replace it. Now, what does that mean and why is it so critically important to you? So, here's what I want you to know. Here's what I want you to follow. Stuttering or stammering is a disfluent way of speaking. It is a disfluent pattern of speaking, okay. And because it's a way or a pattern, we know from science, we know from neuroscience, neuroplasticity, from habit formation, that ways or patterns, now listen, ways or patterns can be replaced, they can be changed. This is very important for you because this is empowering. This means that you have the power, right, you have the capacity to change your ways or patterns of behavior. So, disfluent speech is a behavior, it is something that you do. No one can deny that, right? And because it's a behavior, because it's something that you do, because it's a pattern, that means that it can be replaced with new patterns, with new ways, okay. Now, this is so critically important because it should give you hope. It should make you feel inspired and empowered because this means that you can do something to change or to create or to develop a new pattern, a new way of speaking. So, our focus, using The Pro90d Speech System is not to try to treat or fix or cure, but it is to replace with a brand new way of speaking. But not only are we replacing your way of speaking, we also have to address the psychology of stuttering or smooth speech. That means that we have to replace the way that you think. You have to begin to create a new mindset, a new way of thinking. An example might be, instead of anticipating or worrying about stuttering, you wanna replace that with your anticipating your success, anticipating speaking smoothly, and I'll give you a perfect and a very recent example. I was working with a client from Kuwait and he was telling me that he had a meeting and he was telling me the steps that he took to be successful in that meeting. He was meeting with one of his superiors where he normally would have been very anxious and he found himself initially anticipating or becoming anxious, right, anticipating that he might get stuck. Immediately, he switched, he replaced those anticipatory thoughts, those, that anticipatory anxiousness, he replaced that with thoughts of his model, with thoughts of speaking smoothly, of watching his superior smile and nod. He replaced his anxious thoughts with more positive, constructive thoughts. Does this make sense? So, this is very important that you understand that you have the power to replace your current way of speaking and thinking and again, the reason that this is so important is because this says to you that you can take very specific actions starting from today, you can take very specific actions to change the way that you communicate, to change the way that you articulate your thoughts and your ideas, and by changing the way you speak, you're also transforming your entire life. You will be able to turn, listen, you'll be able to turn or transform what used to be a liability into one of your greatest assets. That is, your speech will become one of your greatest assets. Again, this is Michael Williams and I look forward to seeing you in the next series, or the next session in this series. Thank you so much and I'll see you soon. • How to Stop Stuttering by Replacing Your Current Mindset
    May 30 2017
How to Stop Stuttering by Replacing Your Current Mindset Private Intensive Coaching: https://thesmoothspeechsystem.com/coaching - - Hello, it's great to see you again. My name is Michael Williams and the title of this sessions is How to stop stuttering by replacing your current mindset. How to stop stuttering by replacing your current mindset. Now hopefully you've had a chance to take a look or listen to the last session because we touched on this already. The last session we talked about how to stop stuttering by replacing your current pattern of speaking and we touched on how to stop stuttering by replacing your current way of thinking. So let's go a little deeper into this way of thinking. How to stop stuttering by replacing your current mindset. So for many people, for many, many, many people who struggle with their speech, they have experienced times where they were completed fluent. These were times, and we called this the placebo effect these were times where they felt hopeful, where they felt confident, where they felt good. I've had hundreds upon hundreds of people where have told me that after watching my videos they went fluent for a day, for a week, for a month. Right? Why did this happen? Again, we call this the placebo effect and we'll talk about that in another video or another series. But it has everything to do with their mindset with their thinking, their beliefs at that current period of time, with their state. Right? With their mental state, with their emotional state. Okay? So, let's think about that. Let's think about that. By changing your current mindset and by keeping it changed systematically you can improve your speech. Now one thing that I wanna say here is when we use the expression, how to stop stuttering really what we're talking about is not how to stop stuttering; we're talking about how to become an excellent speaker, how to smooth out your speech, how to start speaking more smoothly, more calmly, more clearly, with more confidence, with more authority. That's what we're talking about, right? So we really don't want to focus on a negative go, how to stop stuttering. What we actually want to focus on is how to start speaking a certain way and a very important part, something that has a huge impact on how you speak has to do with your mindset. So there are a few elements of your mindset that we want to look at and that is how you anticipated upcoming events. So let's say you have a meeting coming up or a phone call or you're going to get coffee, or there's a situation where you have to introduce yourself. How do you think about that event? So for many people who've struggled in the past with these situations, with these events they negatively anticipate those events. So they have this train of thinking that takes them into a direction that they don't want to go. This is your default way of thinking your default mindset. Default mindset is to worry about it, it so think about or worry about getting stuck, or stuttering, or stammering. Right. So what you must do is replace that mindset with a different one, with a new one, with a better one, with one that is more instructive. Right? And it's not something that you just do once, but is something that you have to continuously do. So if you find yourself thinking about, and worrying about, and anticipating getting stuck, and anticipating things on that; what you must gently do is replace those thoughts continuously, gently and continuously with thoughts of how you want to speak with thoughts of someone that you admire how they speak Your model, you'll hear me talk about modeling it's a huge part of a PRO90D Speech System. So you've replaced your old mindset with a new one and by continuously doing this with every single situation what you will find is that gradually, gradually your mindset will begin to change because the way that you think the way that you think is habitual. You have a pattern of thinking, a way that you think and you can change that pattern of thinking but it starts at every time you have a particular thought that's taken you in a direction that you don't want to go, you take that thought, take it captive and you reframe it, you substitute it with something else. Does that make sense? So the PRO90D Speech System is all about you replacing your current mindset and we give you the tools to do that. So I want to invite you to take a look at our PRO90D mobile self-study where we give you the specific tools to replace your current mindset. We also give you the tools to replace your current way of speaking. Once again, this is Michael Williams. Thank you so much for watching and look out for our next session. We'll see you there.

  • How to Stop Stuttering by Using a Daily Routine
    Jun 2 2017
How to Stop Stuttering by Using a Daily Routine - Hello, how are you, this is Michael Williams and in today's session we're going to be talking about how to stop stuttering by using a daily routine, a daily protocol. Now, let's talk about why it's so important to have a daily routine or daily protocol. It's important because what you're doing, now watch this, watch this, what you're doing is you are literally rewiring or retraining your brain. You are either establishing new neural connections, new neural pathways, or you're strengthening neural pathways, right? So everything that you and I do, everything that we say, everything we think can be reflected in the neurology of our brain, right? In pathways and connections and how those connections fire, right? Cells that fire together wire together, okay? So there's these little electronic charges and signals that are going back and forth in our brains. That's happening in my brain right now as I'm speaking. Those cells are firing that's allowing me to move and to speak and to think, everything that we do is represented in this way. So what you're going to want to do and what you're gonna want to understand is that you need a daily routine or daily protocol that will help you rewire or retrain your brain. Now let's go a little deeper into this. When you're focused on developing new speaking patterns and new thinking patterns, what you're actually doing is you're learning new skills. You're creating new patterns or new habits. And in order to learn a new skill like you're learning to play an instrument, you're learning to speak another language, right? You have to do what? You have to practice it, you have to repeat it. First you have to have a target, that is, you have to have something that you're practicing, something that you're repeating. So if it's a new language, then you have to learn the vocabulary, you have to learn the rhythm, the cadence of that language, you have to learn the grammar, right, to learn this style of speaking. You learn it, then you repeat it, you practice it. You practice it by yourself, you practice it in real life with other people, right, repetition. And when you're doing all those things, what's actually happening is your brain is creating a new neural network, new neural pathways, and strengthening those pathways. It's myelinating, that is, it's insulating those pathways the more you repeat that same behavior over and over. So, this daily routine is actually helping you create the new pathways, the new wiring, and it's helping you strengthen or insulate or myelinate the new wiring, the new habit, the new pattern, okay? So it's very important to have a daily routine. So one of the problems that many people have is they don't have a daily protocol, a daily routine, in overcoming stuttering or in replacing their stuttering or creating new thinking patterns, right? They don't have a daily routine. The PRO90 Speech System gives you a daily protocol. It says, think this, listen to this, watch this, practice this, do this every single day, and it tells you, and then it gives you the things to watch, it gives you the things to practice, it gives you the things to do, okay? So that's one of the major benefits of the PRO90D Speech System is it gives you this daily routine. So, if you've been struggling using this system or any other system, or any other kind of treatment, a part of the reason might be because you don't have a daily protocol that works. And, if you have the daily protocol, have you been following it long enough to make those changes in your brain? When you begin to approach your speech, stuttering, stammering, speaking too fast, from this perspective, again, it empowers you because all you have to do is you have to believe that this is going to work, you have to be persistent, you have to be perseverant, and you have to stick with that daily routine, that daily protocol. I want to invite you to take a look at the PRO90D Speech System, the mobile self-study, and we'll give you a link, where we will give you the daily protocol that you need to rewire, to change your brain. Thank you so much, this is Michael Williams and I'll see you in the next session. Private Intensive Coaching: https://thesmoothspeechsystem.com/coaching
