  • Rama orders Ravana to be cremated with the full honours due a King. The unending debate about whether Vibhishana or Kumbhakarna was the righteous one, is discussed here. We also have a glimpse into the Ajeevika school of thought. Rama tells Sita she is free to go where she wishes as he has fought the war for dharma, not her. Sita chooses to prove her purity through a trial by fire. The debate on the rights and wrongs of one of Rama's most controversial actions is discussed in this chapter. This is the Sita of the Shakteya tradition, where, as the avatar of Mahakali, she vanquishes the 1000-headed Ravana.
