    In EP 15, of The Curious Investor, Stephen Jones from Blueline Real Estate Group, a previous guest on the show, takes centre stage in Part 3 of 3 of a roundtable discussion about everything assignment, and how to finance it! In part 3, RICK & DON LEWIS Lewis Brothers Properties & Tridium Corp take a deep dive into private sales and assignments, for properties that likely can’t be sold the traditional way.

    What is an assignment? From RECO:

    “An assignment is a sales transaction where the original buyer of a property (the “assignor”) allows another buyer (the “assignee”) to take over the buyer’s rights and obligations of the Agreement of Purchase and Sale, before the original buyer closes on the property (that is, where they take possession of the property). The assignee is the one who ultimately completes the deal with the seller.

    In other words, an assignment clause allows the buyer of a home to sell the place before they take possession of it.”

    The group, (bios below) discuss various aspects of an assignment such as how assignment deals work, what goes into hem, and also working with wholesalers.
