  • Befriending Wild Birds, Dying Complete & The Breath of Life
    Mar 14 2023

This podcast explores three different themes, and starts off with a personal story of cultivating a friendship with a wild bird in the Zuni mountains of New Mexico, and leaves with a siren call of connection to other species of animals. Imagine if you will, hunter-gathers living 30,000 years ago and the deep communication they may have had with the animals around them. An innate human capacity we all possess. Then we explore the theme of dying whole and complete, arriving at death's door with a heart that is light and ready to let go, and how ancestral veneration can help us do that. We end with a lively exploration of what the breath of life is. This animating force in nature that we are being breathed by. Divine breathing….

  • Wolfdogs: A Teacher for The Modern Rewilding Movement
    Sep 19 2022

Wolfdogs are unique animals possessing an unpredictable mix of wild and domestic traits, unique to each animal. Dogs are symbolic of civilization, and wolves are representative of the wild. After years of working at a wolf sanctuary that rescued these animals, misfits who did not belong in a home or on the hunt, I saw this all firsthand. Modern humans who seek to reconnect to wild streams of being and behavior are much like wolfdogs in this regard. In this episode, we explore this idea.

  • An Ancestral Movement Framework - Part Two: Developmental Patterns & Resting Positions
    Sep 12 2022

In continuation, in part two of this series of applying an ancestral framework to movement, we now explore developmental movement patterns as seen in babies and children, as well as the fundamental resting positions. There is talk about how these patterns are the clearest examples of primal and ancestral movements, and why. We explore the deeper spiritual reasons to engage with these patterns and the way they connect us to ancestry, archetypes, time, and deeper currents of life. And of course the more 'functional" reasons for playing with these movements as well.

  • Nutrients for The Spirit - Devotion to a Book of Wisdom - Ramon Castellanos
    Sep 6 2022

Books, cannons, oracles, and tomes of wisdom span the world over. Many cultures have developed them. Often relegated to the realm of secular religion, and yet, for those of us who are not religious, and have no interest in religion, is there a value in these ancient storehouses of teachings? I think so. The reasons I talk about, may not be what you think.

  • The Myth of Chiron the Centaur & The Unhealable Wound
    Aug 21 2022

A short exploration of a few aspects of the Chironian myth. Chiron is the immortal centaur who suffered a mortal wound that would not heal. A few thoughts about what to do with these wounds, the dangers of perpetually being stuck in the healing process,  and more so, how cracks and imperfections shape us and the service we provide the world.

  • An Ancestral Framework for Movement - Part One: Do What YOU Love
    Aug 18 2022

This podcast is the first of a series that will explore how someone might apply "ancestral principles" to the creation of a movement practice. We start off here with a perspective: what you inherently love to do, is likely most closely aligned with your your inheritance and design. We explore some ideas about how we often internalize other people's values around movement, and set up arbitrary standards and how movement can become incongruent or inauthentic. We also touch on a few questions that might help you gravitate more towards joy and innate inspiration.

  • The Domestication of Humans, Wolves and The Cost To Health
    Aug 14 2022

A talk about what the domestication process actually is, and how it impacts modern humans on the broader level of health. I begin by laying a conceptual groundwork for the domestication process, by using the example of wolves and dogs, and my experience working at a wolf sanctuary for over a decade. We then explore how domestication does not just impact health on physical levels, but also on emotional, mental, and spiritual levels as well, and how even impacts our destiny.
