• EPISODE 44 - Should I put a gate on my child’s room to get more sleep?

    In this episode, we explore the notion of putting a baby gate on your child’s bedroom door in an attempt to get more sleep as we prevent them from getting out of their bedroom.


    Parents often make big bold and sometimes drastic changes in an attempt to have their child sleep for longer or in this case not leave their room overnight.

    However, I see putting a baby gate on as a last result. Why? This is broken down for you in this episode as I explain what else needs to come first to fix the issue of your child leaving their bedroom overnight and why you are experiencing this in your home.

    In addition, a few scenarios are explained through the episode so you can see how to present this bold move and still get the sleep you and your child are looking for!

    On this episode, we dive into 7 key issues around this model and why families end up reaching out for support in a 1:1 capacity despite going to these environments as they chase better sleep for their children.

    This episode, addresses the notion that sleep school is not a holistic approach which means there are so many elements that are missed, there is a lack of ongoing education or long term success, what working on sleep in a different environment to your own house means and that jumping to a technique instead of ticking off all the building blocks to sleep will mean your child still isn't getting the sleep they require.

    By employing a holistic approach to sleep, it means each variable is addressed and THEN when you undertake a sleep technique it is smooth and creates little distress.

  • EPISODE 40 - “My baby has slept through the night since 9 weeks old!”

    This episode is Georgina's story of supporting her child to create excellent sleep habits which ultimately came together to create a young baby who sleeps through the night. Yes, this happened early on. How? In this episode Georgina shares why she was so focused on a proactive approach to her baby's sleep because of the traumatic events that had occurred in her pregnancy as well as concern for her emotional and mental wellbeing as a parent with no hands on support during the long days with a newborn after these traumatic events.

    She also shares this story so listeners can hear a positive story of how we can encourage babies to sleep well from the onset. There is understanding and empathy that is given to families who are struggling with sleep, equally there is negativity given to the parents that have "good sleepers". There are no good or bad sleepers! Every child has the capacity to sleep well we just need to encourage this process. So it is important we hear stories of babies who sleep beautifully and what the parents did to get their children to this place, so all of the families listening can get more sleep for their families!
